… and loved it! yeah, this month’s surprise movie here in Berne was Cloverfield, JJ Abrams’ much hyped monster movie. Critics compare the film to Blair Witch meets Godzilla, but it’s so much more than that. True, the filming style with the handheld camera can be a bit confusing sometimes, but this is exactly what adds to the realism of the film.

After a 15 minute introduction to the main characters, hell breaks loose in New York City when a giant monster-like creature attacks. As the viewer you feel you are with the group as you are seeing the movie from the first person view. The monster itself is actually not seen in its entirety only being viewed from different angles for the audience to piece it together as the survivors themselves are, you pretty much know as much as they do about everything going on making you actually feel like you’re there.

A little more background on the monster would have been nice, though the absence of this information is obviously intentional and again adds to the realism.

Primeval, a high-budget series, follows Professor Nick Cutter and his team as they investigate anomalies in time found in the Forest of Dean. An unfortunate side-effect of the anomalies is that dinosaurs are moving through them and into the present time, making the team’s investigations that much more stressful. Cutter’s wife also disappears while investigating the anomalies and he makes it his mission to find and save her.

Soon, several of my favorite TV shows return to the TV screen … some after a long break due to the writer’s strike, some will start with an entirely new season!

Season 3 of Fox’ Prison Break will continue on January 14 with at least 5 new episodes.

ABC’s Lost finally returns with its brand-new 4th Season on January 31!

After they announced that there won’t be a second season, fans convinced CBS to return to Jericho on February 12! You won’t have to look hard on BitTorrent sites to find the first 3 episodes of Season 2 already, hehe

Another CBS favorite is Survivor, and i have to admit that i became a Suvivor Bitch! After watching Seasons 13 - 15 live, I couldn’t wait 2 months without this.
